Geico Home Insurance Knowledge Base

can we benefit from allowing companies such as Auto/Home insurance Geico, Allstate to sell health insurance? The more people we have paying their own insurance will it drive down the cost due to competition?
Geico insurance? Is it worthwhile, or just a cheesy commercial? Hey, Wondering what people think of Geico insurance. I am contemplating using it for my home and auto and want to know of other people's experience with them. I prefer to know from people who have made a claim of some sort, so they have more experience than just calling up and ordering insurance and paying their bill -- I need people who have actually had experience with this company. Thank you for you input!
Auto and/or Home Insurance Phone scripts? Anyone out there care to share some Auto or Home Insurance phone scripts? Progressive, Geico, State Farm, etc? Cold Calling, Warm leads, Inbound....anything! Thanks in advance! Because I am trying to put together a script to use myself and would like any ideas that people might have. I am fairly new and all the info I can gather would be of great help! Thanks
How hard is it to drop motorcycle insurance and pick up another insurer. Dropping progressive, getting geico.? i originally got a quote from geico that was higher than progressive, however i recently spoke with geico again and they can now beat progressive for me since i am a home owner. in any case i have only had insurance with progressive for a month, and already made that 1st big downpayment you have to make. how hard is it to cancel insurance with progressive and move over to geico???
Car and home insurance together...? I recently purchased a new car and will close on a home in 2 weeks. I am looking for auto and home insurance in NJ. I called Geico today - got a decent quote. But they dont have home insurance in the area. All State gave me a quote for their platinum one and told me they'll give me the other packages in a minute - put me on hold for 25 mins and I hung up (again they dont have home insurance in my area). Anyone has any experience with TWG insurance? My car dealer gave me their info. I searched for reviews in NJ - nothing, They're TX based and have both home and auto...not sure if it is good for NJ. This is my first car and home. Any advise on what to look for esp for my car. What are the grey areas that they can con you? What are the most important points to look for? Any suggestions on good plans in NJ?
home insurance? state farm refused to renew my homeowners insurance. they told me i live with 1000 feet of coastal waters. i'm on the north shore of long island, for goodness sake, it's not the south shore. further, my house sits near the top of a summit. i called around and allstate and geico have also refused to insure our home. finally, i contacted the NY Underwriters Insurance but they don't cover theft, i can get fire insurance through state farm as long as i have NYUI as my primary carrier but they won't cover theft either. what can i do?
I am looking for Home owners Insurance. Which do you have or recommend? Geico or State Farm And Why? Thank you, I have Geico for my car insurance, and State Farm is recommend by my agent..
Which major insurance carrier would you recommend for home & auto? Specifically, which major carrier (Geico, State Farm, American Family, etc.) do you feel has the best rates for quality coverage and good customer service. This would be for two autos and new home coverage. I live in the Midwest, so answers from those in this part of the US are preferred. Any supporting info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
What to do if you are stranded in the side of the road far away from home after a car accident? With little cash, but full car insurance coverage like Geico. Will they help you get home like 200 miles away? Also no one was able to pick you up and have no credit cards. Will the isurance company help you if you have full comvage. Also how would you get the car 200 miles back home?
Is it possible to cancel the signature of auto insurance for new car? Hello, I have just bought a new car in a Toyota car dealer: They have found for me an insurance for the car, comparing with different insurance companies. But now at home, I am trying a quote with Geico, and it seems that I could probably get a better price with this company (not completely sure, I need to call them). Is it possible to cancel my signature as I did not receive the policy yet ? and I did not get my car yet (but tomorrow) ? I don't know if here in USA we have the possibility during some days (one week for example) to retract ourself.... Thanks for information. but is it possible not to start to pay a new car insurance and to change for another one.... I have paid totally my car by cash, and I will take it probably tomorrow. I have signed all the documents for the car insurance today.... but I am hesitation to contact Geico company since they seem to do better price for me..... I don't know if is possible to change right now..... and to cancel the first insurance (already paid for one full year).
Reasonable home owner insurer for the NYC area.? I have been going with Allstate home insurance for about 15 years now. This year Allstate has raised their rate nationwide, I was wondering if anyone can recommend other reasonable home owner insurer for the NYC (Bronx) area. I tried comparing rates with Geico and they are not any cheaper, Any recommendations?
Hit and Run-is it worth it to report to insurance? I was just involved in a hit and run. I was merging into the Holland Tunnel, and a Van drove up on the side of my car, ripped my drivers side mirror off, scratched my car horriably, and just kept on driving!! This was not my fault, as I was in the lane first, he merged into my lane, over the solid line!! I have not done anything yet along the lines of reporting this, as I just got home from work. When we got out of the tunnel, they pulled over and flagged me down. The roads were very busy, and we didnt call the police. They said to me "are you high? You look like you are high". I just got out of working a 14 hour shift, so I look weathered. How dare they say that to me!! Now, I live in NJ, and have Geico Insurance, $500 deductiable, full coverage. I have the color of the van, and the license plate #. What should I do. I dont know if its worth it to report it to my insurance co. but I dont want to report it if its going to go to my insurance co. What should I do?
Any car insurance plans you can cancel or re-activate monthly? I am a recently licensed teen going to college in a month. I won't be driving that much while I'm there but I want to for the next few weeks and will be when I'm home occasionally. Is there any kind of insurance I can get that will allow me to re-activate the insurance and cancel it on a monthly basis? Or every couple months? My family has Geico but do any other companies have an option like this? In the U.S. only. California driver.
How do I cancel college kids from my insurance policy? My kids go to school out of state. I live in MN. One is in Boston, MA and the other is in Oregon. They are 20 and 21. I only have one car. They will not be driving or home over the summer. Geico won't let me cancel them off my policy. Why not?
Geico-Progressive type of insurance companies...? Right now, we dont have either..We have a major carrier, but not one that carries alot in the hurricane areas..So, our rates are pretty darn good..(home, auto, life)What I would like to know is has anyone filed a claim with one of these major auto carriers and been happy with it? I am really leery to switch to something like them...Even if they were cheaper...Thanks
Car Insurance Question!? I currently am paying 231.10 dollars for car insurance. This policy has only one vehicle, which is a 1997 Dodge Caravan. I am planning to add another vehicle to the policy which is a 2003 Honda Civic Sedan. I am wondering how much more I would have to pay if I were to add on this vehicle. Can someone give me an estimated amount?? ( Using GEICO as my Auto Insurance ) And also, I went on the Geico site and I saw that you can add a vehicle to your policy just online. After I'm done with all the registration, will they just send the insurance card straight to my home with just a simple online registration??
Does it matter who was driving last? My car was stolen about 3 weeks ago. Pretty crazy stuff. Anyways, does it matter who drove the car last? I drove the car last, but I'm not on the full coverage insurance with geico. However my car does have full coverage but under my mom's name. As for me, I have liability on that car from a different company just in case I need to borrow the car. I did file the claim under my dad's name since I didn't think it mattered if I filed it under my moms or my dads since no one was really in custody of the car when it was stolen (it was stolen at night in our private parking space outside the home). Anyways, the insurance does ask who was the last driver? And instead of saying myself, I said my mom because I was scared they wouldn't cover it if I said I was since this is geico i'm dealing with and not the other liabililty insurance company. I was the last driver though because I went to the store real quick and drove it home. Will they still cover if I was the last driver? both my mom and my dad are insured with full coverage under the car.
Is auto collision shop responsible for putting removed parts back on car after estimate? I was in an auto accident front left side collision. I took my car to Toyota Dealership for an estimate for Geico Insurance. I expected to get car repaired there. After estimate Geico took responsibility for 2,700$ and refused about 1,200$ in damages and said that they were from wear and tear. These damages were brake callibors, roators, allignment, brakes, and were all caused by the tilted wheel after collision, except the brakes. After finding out they we could not afford to get the other problems fixed we told them to tow car home. They sent my car home with no side panel, no bumber, grill, or left headlight. The car originaly went to the shop with all these parts on the car, however they were dented. They sent car back with these parts thrown in my back seat. Help please it seems like they tore my car up worse then it was. It looks like something i found in a junk yard. They refuse to put parts back on unless i am getting all new parts.
can insurance co say driver at fault of a rear end accident "might" no have insurance? i was rearended and the driver at fault has the same insurance co. (geico) i called geico to rept accident, and was told the driver has "insurance conditions", but would not tell me what that meant. they said it would "be better" if i just filed it under my coverage, (i have full cov, he has liability only) this happened in florida while visiting my parents, but live in georgia and they are also saying that unless i pay extra for the rental car, i would not be able to take it out of florida? a police rept was filed, to show it was his fault. but i am fighting with my own insurance co. to get my car fixed and get a rental to go home. can someone help?? i also had two passengers that are seeking medical attn and when geico called to interview them, they also told them that they "think" the driver did not have ins. i thought you either have ins. or you don't?? am i wrong? and is this what happens when both drivers are insured by the same carrier? please help! the police gave me a mini rept with insurance info on it and the driver said he had liability, but when i called geico they said that he "might not" have insurance due to "insurance conditions". i asked them how do they not know whether he has insurance or not they are trying to get me to pay the deductible and file under my coverage, and they said they will go after him for anything that i had to pay out of my pocket. but i don't have money in my pocket to pay out, and they said that they have an 85-90% success rate with getting back the deduct from the other person. and i said, even if this other person has the same insurance, and i told them that they either cancelled him or they didn't. He either had insurance on Sat, 3/1 @ 544pm or he didnt! oh, and to add another little piece, when the driver got out of his vehicle, he only had one arm, which i felt bad about, but i need my car fixed and i need to get home! he drove an 87 dodge or chevy truck and i was in a nissan car.
Will I be able to switch my car insurance company? My wife and I bought a 2004 Santa Fe in Mass, and in order to drive it back to Maine we took out a Progressive insurance policy. We knew Geico would be much less, but we'd have to wait an extra day to be covered. Heck with it, we thought, and decided to get the Progressive policy and switch to Geico the following day. The big plus being that we didn't have to pay our first bill until January. But then, on the way home, a pebble flew off the road and hit my windshield. My wife and I filed a claim with Progressive, and today I had the windshield repaired. So I've filed a claim, cashed in on insurance with a company I didn't want to use, and I've yet to pay a cent in premiums. So I have two questions. First, if I switch insurance companies now to Geico like I wanted to in the first place (50 bucks cheaper a month), should I expect a bill for the $55 windshield repair? Second, if I switch to Geico and choose a $50 comprehensive deductable (which I intended on doing in the first place), am I going to be investigated for insurance fraud? And here's a third question while I'm at it--if I switch to Geico and it turns out the repair that Progressive paid for didn't hold, and the pit mark turns into a long crack across the windshield, will Geico cover a replacement windshield?
i have a problem with this tv commercial? every time i see the geico car insurance commercial with the gecko on tv or hear it on the radio,i start talking like him with an english accent all day, even when i come home!!i cant stop it!!!!!what should i do?
what is the least expensive/best..1) phone service 2) car insurance 3) broadband internet service? what is the least expensive/best... 1) phone service? I keep hearing commercials for vonage saying it is only $24.99/month for unlimited nationwide calls, but is that really the best/cheapest? Anyone know of any that are cheaper? 2) car insurance? I keep hearing that geico is the best/cheapest overall. Anyone know if this is true? 3) broadband internet service? I keep hearing commercials for netzero, which is only $9.99/month. But is that for broadband, or just dial up? Is it the cheapest? Also, one more question 4) if my father has an outstanding balance on his credit report with Verizon, will he still be able to get phone service with another company? I need to know the above because my father and I may be getting into a mobile home, and if we do I should like to have the least expensive services so we can save money. Also, I am 21 and still can't drive, but I would like to have the least expensive insurance in the event I learn to drive.
I need homeowners insurance. Who is good? I am having trouble getting quotes online because the house was built in 1915. Geico, Allstate and Progressive won't give a quote online for that age of a home. The house has already been completely remodeled. Brand new everything except for the hard wood floors and architectual details. I found insurance through my car insurance, I just needed to talk to a live person to get it worked out.
Car Insurance Help!? Will my rates go up? Today when I got outta school, I was about to drive home and i found a huge dent on the passenger side door. So it was a hit and run I guess. Nobody left any note or anything. I drove the car home and called the cops to get a police report. the cop gave me a card with her name and the case number, but she said that if i file a claim with insurance, the company will either drop me or increase my rates. I'm a 17 year old boy and i live in maryland and im insured under geico. will my rates go up? Thanks is what the cop said right? what should I do?
what is the least expensive best company for car insurance? Also, a place to get a low interest loan with bad? is it Geico? Also, my father keeps trying to get a loan for at least just $6,000 because we saw a moblie home in a book and the mobile home park want $6,000 up front to pay, but no matter where my father applies for a loan no one will give him one just because his credit is a LITTLE bad, but it is not even all that bad! They will not even just give him a loan with high interest at all. So does anyone know of a company that will still give him a loan even though he has slightly bad credit (in particular a company that will still provide low or no interest even though he has bad credit)?
When do you decide it is okay to not have full coverage insurance on your vehicle? We are trying to save some money here. I work at home, use my car mostly to drive back to where I'm from (six hours), and that's about it. My car is a 2001 Honda, so is five years old... and I still have full coverage on it. How do you decide when you don't necessarily need all of that? and what do you think I should definitely have? (I have been in an accident a year ago when someone ran a red light and totaled my car... geico fixed it, but probably wouldn't have, but I begged them.. there was over $11,000.00 damage and I'm wondering if I hadn't had full coverage, what would have happened... ) Thank you for any information or thoughts PS I don't ask this in cars because no one answers Trinity, the wreck wasn't my fault, however the guy had no insurance that hit my car, i DID Have unsinured motortist coverage, which I would keep because I feel extremely confident in my driving capabilities that I wouldn't be the cause of an accident. I know that sounds silly to you guys, but like I said I hardly ever drive anyway. I will weigh the options.
Just bought new Homeowners Ins. policy & an initial discount was removed!? I just switched both my old home & auto policies to metlife (from Amica & GEICO), due to substantial rate savings. My quote & initial paperwork for the new home owners policy provided for a "superior home discount" of 10%. After my first year premium was paid in full, I received a notice from the insurance company that the discount was removed, with no explanation, with a bill for the remaining amount due. How can they retroactively increase my premium like this? Obviously, I will call tomorrow, but I am irrate, since I just went through all of this trouble to switch, in reliance on the rate being lower due to the discounts ! Just to clarify: my policy has not renewed. I just paid for my first year upfront, and immediately they send me paperwork saying, "discount removed, additional xxx owed."
